My Annual Review

Each year your plan will be reviewed. Your school or college will invite you and everyone involved in supporting you to a meeting.

What is the point of the review meeting?

The meeting is important because:

  • it sees if you are making progress to the targets which have been set
  • it looks at the support you are getting to reach those targets
  • it helps you to prepare for your next steps especially if you are about to move from school to school or leaving to go to college, training or work
  • it is your opportunity to have your say. Your voice in those meetings is very important. You should not feel that you are not listened to. It is your plan and so you should be able to contribute and say how you feel.

Be Prepared!
Look at some of these links as they will help you get what you want to say in a review meeting. Your teacher or adult who works with you or parent/carer can go through the links and help you prepare for the meeting. If you feel you would like an adult to read through your thoughts and wishes, you can tell them before and they can come to the meeting too.

The more your voice is heard at the meeting, the better the EHC plan will be at representing what is best for you!
