Gloucester Rugby Foundation have exciting developments and opportunities for young people within Gloucester Rugby’s HITZ programme starting in September that we thought you would like to be a part of. It is very important to remember that HITZ is not a rugby course, nor is it even a sports specific course. It is a tailored programme, so although some of our past students have been keen on sports and rugby, others have been interested in animal care or catering and we support as many needs as possible. The programme is predominantly aimed at 16-19 year olds who are classed as NEETs (Not in education, employment or training).
Gloucester Rugby proudly introduced the HITZ Learning Academy in 2014 with the intention of making an impact to assist at risk young people. 89% of the young people who completed their HITZ Learning Academy programme transitioned within 6 weeks into education, employment and/or training. 6 of these successful young people represented Gloucester Rugby & the HITZ Learning Academy at the Parliamentary Awards and have also attended National HITZ annual awards ceremonies.
