Dogs for Good is a charity that explores the ways dogs can help people overcome specific challenges and enrich lives.
Their Family Dog workshops provide parents of children with autism with the advice and long-term support needed for choosing and training a dog to benefit the whole family.
They hold the workshops up and down the country. They are a series of 3, one day workshops over 3 months and take parents through how to choose the right dog for their family (if they don’t already have one) based on their needs and lifestyle, how to settle them in to the home, how to read their body language and taking them on to advanced training of specific interventions that can be used to prevent or calm down following a meltdown or periods of anxiety for example.
