SEND by numbers:

97% of primary-school exclusions are for SEND pupils.
98% of SEND tribunal hearings are lost by local authorities.
98% of SEND appeals relate to EHCPs.
£100m spent by LAs last year in SEND tribunals.

Maybe it would be easier to just support SEND families..?

Another report on support for children with SEND that talks about parents' "expectations" rather than what the law requires. What parents expect is that schools will understand and follow SEND law. This is not an unreasonable expectation.

Judge McConnell says it’s not always clear to Tribunal on what basis a local authority has made a decision. Tribunal now requires panel meeting notes/minutes to be disclosed in evidence. Decisions MUST be made in accordance with law not local policy. #senlawconf
